Pretty sure someone has posted this before but I’m using the FB Mobile site
with the latest versions of Safari and Yosemite.
I want to tag people in my messages. I type the @ sign and the first few
letters of their names but nothing happens. I turn off QuickNav and still
nothing.

Hi,
On Facebook Mobile, there is no need for the at sign. Simply swipe over to
where it says tag people in your post.

i used tagging this week in the mobile version. click where it says tag people.
then you get a search box you type a few letters and then it brings up matches
from your friends list you click the check box on the one you want. wish it
worked like you say where you can just type the at or number
Yeah, the typing @ with a name only works on the desktop site. The only problem
with tagging people on the mobile site in the manner you describe is that it
then lists you as being with the people you tag. Not a huge deal, but also not

Thanks Buddy, that being with the person I tag is what I recall about doing it
the way folks here describe. You beat me to it.
So there’s no real way to just tag people on the Mobile site as such.
I loath the desktop site. Haven’t even tried it from the iOS app as I just

Well…probably not very. Still, it’s kinda neat to be able to put stuff on
people’s timelines to call attention to particular people. Like if you think
someone specific might be interested in something. I really wish Facebook
wasn’t such a pain in the ass.

I’ve heard more than once that you could tag somebody by putting an at sign in
front of their name but there must be something I didn’t understand about that
because when I tried it, it didn’t work.

Thanks Buddy,
Hi Lorie,
Yes, as mentioned before, the at sign can only be used on the regular Facebook
site, not Facebook mobile.
