Hello Tim and List,
Well, this gets even stranger but I fixed it.
Here's what I did.
First I pressed the reset button on the airport extreme and held it for several
seconds.
Then I was still able to connect through ethernet but Wi-Fi wasn't working. OK,
so far so good. But I still couldn't access configuration menus in the airport
utility on my Mac.
So I went to the airport utility on my iPhone. And rebuilt the Wi-Fi and now
all is well. I can also access the configurations on my macs airport utility
using Command Shift O.
In OS X 10.9, I didn't have to use the Command Shift O, I just interacted with
network on the airport utility.
However, all is well and my mac airport and iPHone and other household devices
are happy happy happy!!!!!!
