Herbie is correct, updating your iPad via Software Update on the iPad is the
simplest way to go.
However, having a few USB-C Female to USB-A Male adapters around is a good idea
as long as you are still using a Mac with only USB-A ports.
Below is a link from Amazon where you can pickup a couple of
USB A to USB C adapters are readily available.
