Hello, firstly let me say I have only had Paprica for a short time and still getting used to it. I expect if you had saved the files as .txt. Then you might be able to import them. Max On 5 Jan 2014, at 4:22 am, Eileens Misrahi wrote: > Hello Paprika Folks, > > I need some expert assistance.

Hello, Thanks for the tip. I will now convert a file to tXT and see if it will import to Paprika. I will also try RTF to see if that is acceptable with Paprika. Best, Eileen On Jan 4, 2014, at 12:37 PM, Agent086b wrote: > Hello, > firstly let me say I have only had Paprica for a short time

there is a list of supported file types that Paprika will import in the user manual. I just did a search for paprika user manual. I still say for the money MacGourmet is much more flexible and much easier to import recipes into. On Jan 4, 2014, at 4:50 PM, Eileen Misrahi wrote: > Hello, > >

I don't believe any of those file types are supported. looks like a .YML file is the closest thing you can use. Jim On Jan 4, 2014, at 5:30 PM, Eileen Misrahi wrote: > Hello, > > I'm back again. I have taken one of my recipes and have saved it as a DOC, > RTF, and ODT file separately and ha

Hi Jim, Thanks for looking this up. I have iText Express and TextEdit on my Air. I don't think I saw a .YML file type in either one of them. I guess the only solution is to copy/paste the info into Paprika. Oh well!!! Not a happy camper, but will like with it. thanks again. Cheers, Eilee

Hi Eileen and Others, Paprika uses the file extension type to recognize the importing format. You need to use text files and name them with a ".yml" extension for YAML format before you import. Keywords like "name" and "servings" are followed by a colon and a space, then the text argument. F

Hi Jim, I've had MacGourmet (in the Deluxe Version) for some time, and I agree that it's a great program, and was the "gold standard" for Mac recipe management programs at the time I bought it. There are a lot of things I like about it, including the smart list features. If we were only talki

It does require an update to version 4 but it is half price now and the regular version is normally 24.95. The deluxe version offers menu planning and more which I don't really need. I just think that recipe entry is so much easier with mac gourmet. I guess they are both good but for me the

Hi, Below is the extract from the user manual. YAML is a simple, plain text file with sections delimited by key-value pairs. To indicate a block of text, use an initial pipe character, as shown in directions and ingredients. Consistent indenting should be used, but the order of the fields does

Mac Gourmet is 24.95 for the regular version and twice that for the deluxe version. The deluxe version has a menu planner and a meal planner and a cookbook maker. Not sure that it is all necessary. The regular version does everything else I believe. I really like its ease of use but paprika l
