Hi, Group.
For several days, Voiceover has been prompting me to update from the
AppStore and I am not sure what kinds of updates they are so I am ignoring
it.
Is it advisable to follow the update prompt regarding updates from the
AppStore and update it?

I recommend you go to system preferences / software updates.
There you can instruct to automatically update your apps and security and OS. I
believe it will be under the advanced area, and you may need to use Touch ID or
your password to enable those changes.

It’s always good to keep your apps from the App Store up to date. Yes, there
are very rare occasions when an update breaks accessibility or whatever, but in
99.9% of the app update actions, all will be fine, or better.

Actually, it sounds like the update he is receiving is from the AppStore, not
Software Update.
In this case, go to the Apple menu in the menu bar, down arrow to AppStore and
press enter. This will take you to the update section of the App Store.

other things — inside the advanced portion in software updates.
