I could be wrong but when I put in Netgear R8500 openWRT and I get back very
little. I get a lot of DD-WRT though, it's’ looking like there’s a specific
branch for the R8500. Reviews still sound mixed although improving. I’d be
interested in your input.

You could do a lot worse than OpenWRT software, or the new OpenWRT fork
called lede.
I'm running Lede on my WRT1900ACS, and it's working like a charm.
The management GUI is accessible (mostly).
The CLI is fully accessible, of course. All configurations are pretty
standard Linux, e.g. /etc and /e
So my opinion of Netgear is steadily dropping. I’m about ready to bring this
to the firing range and line it up where the S5 was.
The IPV4 and over all network performance is fantastic. I’ve got all
kinds of parallel streams and everything is split up across the different
spectrum wire

PS: You'rs truly brought up a brand new Belkin/Linksys WRT1900ACS last
week, and will be pairing it with the new Netgear CM1000
Anyone have any experience setting up a nether device or specifically a nether
8500 with a 6 to 4 tunnel broker IPV6 tunnel? I’m having 0 luck and there’s
not a lot out there in google land. Feel free to take off list since the topic
isn’t really Apple specific.
