Most monitors, unless they are ancient, should be able to handle 1024x768 but not all frequencies. Depending on what flavor or OSX you have there should either be refreshrates listed with the resolutions (1024x768 60Hz for example) or as a separate Refresh Rate popup. I think when I've had my
