I had an issue similar to this, and what I did was to remove the all inbox
folder from favorites and add in separate Work and Home Inboxes instead. Then I
could type command-2 to review Work emails and and command-1 to review
personal ones.

I would like to be able to disable my work email on my Mac when I don’t want to
see those emails. If I take that account offline, how long will it stay
