Hello Jenine,

It's been a while since I deactivated Google Voice and/or Google Voice mail
from either my iOS or Android devices but I am certain that the gear that is
referred to in the Google Voice documentation is referring to the gear located
near the upper right corner of the website as seen from a Desktop computer.
You must click/activate the gear in order to reveal more options said options
including the Settings area of Google Voice.

>From memory, I recall having to enter my carrier providers local voicemail
>telephone number back into my phone in order to restore normal service. I am
>not certain if this step is still required as their have been many advances in
>OS configuration protocols since last I worked with Google Voice in this area.

Worst case scenario, you will need to call Verizon Wireless and ask them to
give you the telephone number to your local voicemail access point.

Good Luck,

Mark

Subject: Removing Google Voice from an iPhone

Apologies if this is off topic.

I am trying to deactivate the Google Voice service on my iPhone and the help
from Google mentions a Gear icon at the upper right of the screen. I’m assuming
they mean on the phone but no such icon appears with a VO label.

Does anyone have any way to do this? My carrier is Verizon and I just want to
get back to my carrier voice mail.

Google Voice was fine for a time but for some reason it’s not passing the
voicemails through unless I go to the web site and frankly, I’m tired of it.

Any help is hugely appreciated.
