I just noticed this once you said something about it. My iPad does this too.
Don't know why that is, but I guess it's OK since it's not hurting anything.

No, I haven't. Battery life is still good. Left it on stand by for 5 days or so
and still had about half a battery charge left. That wasn't on purpose, though.

I can do you one better. You don't actually need to e-mail the notes to
yourself. If you have a gmail account, you can sync the notes and it will
happen for you automatically, once you get back online through wifi. I'd
