You can also use control-f8 to reach the status bar. ALternatively you can activate the ability for VO to use scripts and use Keyboard COmmander or Keypad COmmander and activate the script to tell the time. YOu can find these options in the VoiceOver Utility under Commanders. On Jul 12, 2010, a

Go into VoiceOver Utility (control + option + F8) and select commanders, then keyboard commander tab, then tick enable keyboard commander. From now on you will be able to press the option key on the right hand side of the spacebar and T together. This will read out the date and time. Regards
