several items. Whenever VoiceOver encounters a list or sub-list, it announces
how many items are in the list. I agree it's overly verbose and not really

in the Verbosity pane of VO Utility, check the box for Advanced Speech

Not positive, but I believe that you may wish to put the general verbosity
setting back to medium but adjust specific elements to low. There are some
things that are not mentioned under the Additional Speech Verbosity options
that are affected when you set verbosity to low, medium or high.
