Saving preferences in text edit

Hi Can someone please remind me how to set Text Edit to save on my mac and not in icloud? I can't see it in the text edit preferences or in the icloud tabe of the main apple preferences. I want to be able to quickly open text edit without that silly dialogue asking where I want to save things.
