FYI: Looks like Apple fixed the screen curtain in one of the more recent Lion updates. When I toggle the screen curtain on the screen no longer goes completely bright. It goes dark like it is supposed to. Keystroke Vo/shift f11. Or three finger tripple tap will toggle the curtain as well.
