Yes, When you open the folder, all you're doing is either expanding a
disclosure triangle, or opening the said folder in a new window. You will
still need to interact with the List table or the Column browser in order to do
the non-contiguous selection.

Hi,
That's exactly what you need to do. You need to make sure that you've
interacted with the folder though. If you're just arrowing, then it won't
work. So, interact with the folder then VO-arrow to the item you wish to
select, press VO-cmd-return, then VO-arrow to the next item you wish se
can anybody tell me how to select noncontiguous items in a file/folder? I have
instructions here that say to press vo-command-return on them but that's not

Guys,
I have a question. Undoubtedly Apple has changed some things without my
knowing. In Yosemite, I'm having a lot of trouble selecting multiple items in
my finder in a noncontiguous fassion.
It used to be I could interact with the file browser, focus myself on the first
item, then disable
Ok, hi.
You don’t need any more to turn cursor tracking on and off to select
noncontinuous files in Finder. This also works in Mail.
Get on top of your file list. I use command shift o to get to documents.
Interact with the browser, and I guess you know that’s vo shift down arrow.

Hi,
No need to do anything with cursor tracking anymore. Just use VO-cmd-return.
The first time you hit the key combination, it will deselect the item you're
on, so hit it a second time, then VO navigate to the next item and press
VO-cmd-return again Once you're done, press cmd-c to copy or
Hello all,
I apologize but for the life of me I can’t remember how to do that. I remember
how to turn cursor tracking on and off, but that is as far as I can get. I
haven’t done this in over a year or more. Anyways, I can’t figure it out. I did
a search for the term noncontiguous in the voiceOv
Hi all,
I’m sorry to be bombarding the list with so many questions. My new job is
stretching my Mac knowledge well beyond what it was before. :)
Can someone tell me how to check/select noncontiguous items in a large combo
box?
thanks,
Donna
