now noticed the hint from VO which gave instructions to this effect,
was a bit tired when I last tried...

Its a bit finicky, but it does work.
Flick the button that says to select text startat …
Double-tap there, then flick down with 1 finger to select by word or 3 fingers
and it will select in chunks until you want to stop.

I believe in Voice Dream Reader we're meant to be able to select text
and then copy it but I can't work out how to do this.

1. In the text, using the rotor setting to select some text. VO says
