Hi,
It's always recommended to backup your data before doing this but, to be
honest, I've done it many, many times without backing up and have never had any
problems. Now that I've said that, I'll probably have an issue next time.

Do you loose any information? Is it necessary to backup tule data before hand?
I am just curious.

Hi,
OK, here you go...
1. Close all windows and quit all applications.
2. Up to the Apple menu.
3. Down to Restart.
As you hear the startup chime, press down the cmd key and the "r" key
simultaneously. You can get yourself ready while the computer is going through
the motions of shutting d
Can you walk me through the re-install? I haven't had to do that in a *looong*

Hi,
That's a good idea Cara. I've seen that happen in the past when I've forgot to
turn cursor tracking back on with VO-shift-f3 after doing whatever. It did
cause these sorts of frustrations that didn't seem logical. Certainly worth a
try.

Hi Jane,
Out of curiosity, have you checked your cursor tracking settings? It sounds
like your VO cursor might be routed to your mouse pointer.
This is just a guess but it might be worth a look before you go the route of a
reinstall.

No, it shouldn't affect anything like that. The registration is already
attached to your machine so it will not be lost. If these other machines are
no longer yours, or no longer functioning, let me know and I'll help you
reauthorize them so you have more available authorizations.

Hi,
That should be the one. It's starting to look like you may need to do a
re-install. I wouldn't go the total clean install route yet. You could try
the "Re-install" option in the Recovery partition. This would install the
newest MacOS onto your system, hopefully fixing any issues that ex
Are you talking about the BAttery plugin under Menu Extras? It won't let me

Hmmm. I wouldn't bother doing another repair after this, as some items just
don't seem to repair themselves. How about you try the following:
* Go to your Finder.
* Open your Macintosh HD
* Open the System folder.
* Open the Library folder
* Open the Core Services folder.
* Open the Battery ite
I am repairing permissions for the third tie now and I am down to one
permission that needs to be repaired. Interestingly, it has nothing to do with
Status menus. It has to do with Safari. I still can't access the extra menus,
though.

Hi,
Don't rush to the reformat, that is a drastic and usually unnecessary task.
Try to do a repair permissions first. To do so...

Oh controil f8 not f3. Well the restart did work so am ok now. Had
some training today and we did a lot of things so perhaps the Mac got
bored and confused.

Yep, I have tried with both. It doesn't work I bet I am going to have to

Hi there.
I tried both cycling VO off and on and a re-start of this computer. It didn't
make a difference. Any other thoughts?

Hi,
I would just suggest either cycling VO off then on or restarting your Mac.
This is not normal behaviour so, something has become confused. The cycling
off/on of VO may do the trick but the restart is best and if that doesn't fix
it, then post again.

Funny this comes up today for I just ran into the same issue except
I could not bring up the menu bar and control f3 did not work. Had to
restart the Mac.

Hi!
Does the Mac command work for you press Control+F8 should take you to menu
extra's!
And Control+f3 should take you to the Apple menu like VO+m would do!
