Hi, A couple of things to consider: 1. Like with a finger-print iPhone, if the iPhone is off, it will require your pass-code. 2. Know that as soon as you wake the iPhone, it will start searching for your face. Consider this for the next item. 3. Make sure that Raise to Wake is turned off.

Hi Tim, Yes I have attention disabled. One thing I did not realize was that you can press the side button to initiate the unlock process. What I was doins was either: 1. Swiping up from the bottom to initiate the unlock which can be cumbersome if you are walking and carrying things etc.; or 2.

Hi, I don't have any real issues with Face ID. Do you have the Attention feature disabled? Normally, I just pull out my iPhone, put it in a close enough proximity to normal position, then press the side button. Within a very short time, I feel the double-haptic vibration and I'm good to go.
