Usually, this is possible. Once the Mac has identified everything on the
source computer, there should be an expansion triangle beside the Applications
item. Once expanded, you can check the apps you wish to migrate. I have seen
it though when this is not available, but haven't

As per previous posts I am planning to migrate to a new iMac. I have all the
info from my old late 2008 iMac on a bootable USB memory stick.
I have just read the Apple web site on migration assistant. Is it possible to
use migration assistant on my new iMac to migrate some Apps and data
