option is set to mp3.
Then under the file menu look for convert and mp3 will now be a choice.

If these files are in your iTunes library, there is a chance you can export
them out of there as MP3. I haven’t done this directly, but I know there are
commands for this. If not, then I believe quicktime should be able to do this.
In Quicktime, one can even save just the audio track of a .mov
Hi,
I use a completely accessible and free Mac app called Forecast. It is available
on the overcast podcast app site and was written by Marco Arment the author of
Overcast. It will convert m4a to mp3.

I think a stream will play m4a. might be good to check as then you wouldn't
have to convert them.

The files are in M4A, apple MPEG-4). I am not sure how universal that is, as I
don't know much about all the different audio file types out there. MP3 seems
to be very universal. I like to use MP3 on my stream.
Thanks so much,
Christina

As for converting files, Audio Highjack comes to mind, but I’m sure their
what's the format of the files you want to convert? I convert video mp4's and
other video formats to mp3 using VLC media player.

I believe she stated they were DRM Free, and even if they were not, their are
some options depending on where the files are from.
As for converting files, Audio Highjack comes to mind, but I’m sure their are
better options.

Not sure you can convert a DRM file to MP3. DRM is a locked format and
licensed, to prevent duplication. MP3 is an open format that can be copied ad
infinitum.
