Right, but the last I heard eBay said they either needed to come to an
agreement with the patent holders or shut it down. This just shifts the
problem to a new group of folks.

patents on some of the underlying technologies. Apparenly eBay didn't
actually purchase those and without them Skype was going to have issues.

the PSTN, mobile networks and so for whereas you can get any one of a

Hi,
My impression from the article and from the Skype blog is that Skype
is alive and well. It's going to be a more independent company than in
the past couple of years, as eBay will only own 35% of it. It was sold
at more than anyone expected, so that's a good sign.
