when I get a link for a live stream on youtube it doesn't just start playing
when I go up there like a regular youtube video would. what do I do to get it
to start playing?

Since the YouTube link you are accessing is for a live stream, I would assume
that the issue is not that the video is not playing, rather I would think that
the video’s sound is muted.
To resolve this issue, try accessing the web rotor menu, using VO + U, then use
left/right arrow keys to the Bu
This sounds like stating the obvious, however, its worth mentioning that if the
event hasn't begun, or if it is connected but no one is yet speaking it can
seem as though nothing is happening. I've been confused and/or a little
anxious on more than one occasion thinking there were tech issues.
yeah. I know what you're talking about. I've had all that stuff happen to me
too. once I found this place where everybody was commenting and that's when I
found out that the presenter was having technical difficulties. today I clicked
on one and it worked right away so who knows?

Yes, some times it isn't us or our adaptive software, ... just the last thing I
tend to consider. On the up side live presentations have given me a whole new
appreciation for punctual people!
