Ricardo, you are correct about one thing, we do have very differing opinions on
this subject. I believe we will agree to disagree and this topic obviously will
yield no value to the list either way. Whatever you may believe, as long as you
can be productive it really does not matter what tools y
Hi Scott,
That is not an assumption. That is my personal opinion based on, my level of
skill with both screen readers, word processors, how I use them, and operating
systems. By all means, you can disagree. Different strokes for different
folks. I think we might have a different view of "br
Ricardo,
The general assumption you stated is that "For example, I don't think there is
1 application for the Mac that has the accessibility and ease of use as MS word
with Jaws." This may be your opinion, but the assertion is no other product is
as accessible as this specific combination. In
Yes, that would be very cool.

Yeah. This is particularly cool with the Braillesense 18 (onhand).
Only thing needed now is for it to work with the iphone?

Hi Erik,
wow this is great news. I have a need for both a braille display and a
notetaker here at work, so I'm really glad to hear that the sense can serve
both functions. thanks for the info.

Hi Scott,
I don't think I did. What are the broad and general assumptions you think I
made? I wrote "I don't think there is 1 application for the Mac that has the
accessibility and ease of use as MS word with Jaws". this was just my opinion.
Hardly a broad general assumption. :). I then wr
Hi Donna,
They have the braille sense working quite nicely with mac OS at this point.
You can transfer files back and fourth using mobile disc mode, or you can use
it as a usb or bluetooth braille terminal.
The sense is just ridiculous with jaws and you can forget all about it since

Erik,
Are you saying that the braille sense works as a braille display with the Mac?
I had so many headaches trying to get it to work with JAWs that I didn't even
try. This would be very handy if it does.
Thanks,
Donna

Hum, Well, the victor stream and booksense both work on the mack.
Braillesense works. Braille note apex works as a braille terminal. I haven't
tested file transfering capabilities. I haven't tested packmate, but so far
that looks to me like more than 10% of notetaking devices right there, m

Ricardo,
I think you are making some very broad and general assumptions. There is
sufficient evidence of people who are very successful in using Pages, Text
Edit, etc. to accomplish a number of word processing tasks. HOnestly I had to
use WOrd for something today (Word 2007) and it was such a
Hi,
I think that's crap. lol. In general there will always be more compatible
digital devices for windows than the Mac. Keep in mind, most of the stuff you
won't be using in the first place. There are many obscure products out there
that just develop for windows because they have the most p
Hi!
As a rather frequent note taker user, or rather...used-to-be frequent user, I
find the Mac is more than efficient for my study needs. In fact, I find a
notetaker can't even handle most of what I need in my college, and as such, the
Mac is much easier to deal with. I use the PAC Mate QX440,
