OSX being Unix doesn't make it impervious, as recent security updates from
Apple attest to, but it does make it harder. Throw in the small market share
and most malware developers will move on to easier/broader targets
(Windows). That said, an even bigger t
thing. The reason it is hard to get this stuff

Ah yeah I saw that. I'll download it when it asks me to. I have it set to check
for updates every month so I;m not too worried.

I noticed that a software update that arrived last week was related to
security. I don't know what it does but it could be anything from standard UNIX
like crypto stuff to malware related functionality.
Last I heard, though, was that there were no known virus for the Mac in the
wild but some ha

Hi Marie,
I do not have much knowledge on this, although I am very interested. The best
advice I can give you is to be very careful what you do and where you go. Don't
open anything you're not sure of. This is just basic web safety that I'm sure
you know.
BTW, could you contact me off-list p
someone just retweeted something about malwear now being able to take over

know norton and such programmes are available, but I hated them when I was on
the windows side. One of the reasons I came to the mac was because
