I've done that, but all it says is "contact list" but it shows up under the web
interfase, so have no idea what to make of that.

No you can still use Trillian to connect to Facebook. Try pressing
command+slash. That should bring up the contacts window. If not, don't know
what to tell you, but it works for me just fine.

So can we not connect to 3rd-party anything now? That's ridiculous.

Most likely FaceBook depricated XMPP support, so they have greater control
of Messenger interface, experience, analytics, tracking, and FB can better
advertise. I read somewhere that even if you were in the middle of
composing a message and erased it, machine learning went into those bits to

I have, and added my facebook account, but when I launch trillian, it just
continues to say "trillian has no windows," and can't figure out how to access
it," and everything else is still dimmed.

Did you create a Trillian account? You can't add accounts until you perform

Ok, I've just installed it but can't figure out how to add accounts, how in the
world do you do this?

I don't get why they would do that; it's not like we're doing anything illegal
by using the mac's 3rd party app to connect to them, so what's the problem?

Hi Matthew,
Yep, it appears that we won’t be able to use Facebook Chat from within the
Messages App as XMPP support is being deprecated. I finally removed my account
the other day. This is extremely unfortunate as it is by far the most
accessible experience I’ve ever found for chatting with Fac
th the facebook service. HTH.

Ok, I've been repeatedly trying to connect to facebook using the messages app,
running maverix, and for the last week or so, it refuses to connect, which is
driving me up the wall, if not passed that. Has anyone else been having this
issue?
