Yes I started encrypting some time ago. And while it is good to do
some things the slow way, I will jump in with both feet.

So here's the deal.
I've totally forgotten the pass code to my device.
Have tried numerous times to restore using the latest version of iTunes
for Windows.
Seems to be stuck in this circle where it just won't get passed the
message: " iTunes cannot connect to the iPad
I would go with a final Time Machine backup to make sure everything is safe,
followed by a clean install from a USB drive, and then restoration of the
individual files and folders from your Time Machine backup, without using
Migration Assistant. That utility tends to bring over other things as

Are these the correct steps to follow?
1 clean install of OS X from Recovery mode or Yosemite USB install drive,
with hard drive wipe from within disk utilities first.
2 Use migration assistant to restore
our only option. In this situation,

Itunes has been saying it's restoring my iPhone 5 for about 6 hours now. There

Go into find and Selected Dr., Rao Time Machine backup is made.
There you will see folders and each has the name of the dates when the backup

Hi. If you purchased it new, I'd assume there would be a restore
partition. If you bought it second hand and it does have a superdrive
but did not come with the OSX dvd, then you'll need to pick up an OS
from the app store or e bay etc.
