I am trying to download some of the podcasts from blind cool tech
about the mac but am having a hard time figuring out how to get the
correct cursor over the link so I can pull up a context menu to choose
to download the file. I tried using V/O + Command + F4 to move the
keyboard

You need to interact with the link then press control option shift M. You can
also go the the link and just press option return.

The easiest way to download is to simply hold down the Option key while you
press return on the link for the given item.

then hold the option key and press enter, that will download the file instead
