Hi,
I had installed a Lexmark printer/scanner driver, but I changed my mind and
want to use a different brand. Is there a way to find it and put it in the
Trash? I don’t see it in the list of apps.
Thanks,

Ok, it looks like my epson works with VueScan but I'm not sure how to use it.

According to the abbyy website, it works with scanners that don't use emulated
drivers. Now just how is an end user suppose to be able to tell which
scannersdo not use emulated drivers? Finding scanners that work with the Mac
and are fast and durable seems enough of a challenge. My favorite opti

Hello Mary,
Abbyy FineReader does work directly with some scanners but I don't know which

In your message on this topic, you said, if your scanner is not supported by

the version of FR available for the Mac didn't support any scanners, that it

I would strongly advise against ReadIris. The setting to correct page
orientation has to be reset every time you launch the application. If you scan
the left-hand and right-hand pages at the time, it regularly gets them the
wrong way round, making nonsense of the text. It also has a

Hi May!
I've used Abbey FineReader on the mac with some success. I've never gotten it
to work directly with my scanner but did use the imaging utility to scan and
then dropped the image file into abbey and it did a nice ocr job on it.
I had some problems getting the software to run but I know of

Ok, I finally have a scanner to use and can't remember for the life of me what
people suggested to use for scanning with the mac that works with VO. Any help
right now would be greatly appreciated. I have a nice big text book for school
that's calling my name that needs to be scanned, lol.
