Hello, By default, uTorrent has a setting set where it will not allow the Mac to sleep or shut down while uTorrent is running, even if all the windows are closed. This can be adjusted in uTorrents preferences. Make sure when quitting apps such as this one for example, that you use Command Q and

Hi, nope. turning your computer on/off doesn’t damage any hardware. That being said, I leave my Mac on all the time as well. I’ll restart maybe once every 2 or 3 weeks for any number of reasons. From updates, to general maintenance. Bottom line though, you don’t really gain or lose anything
