Hi listers, I have a 2012 MBP I bought on ebay. I have a Lacie external hard
drive that will connect with thunderbolt or usb. It doesn't show up on the
finder using thunderbolt. Is there any test on the mac to determine if the

Hi Chris thanks for the info. Its just one of those problems, it could
be my mac, the cable or the external drive itself. I was planning to
buy a new external thunderbolt drive because mine is making funny
noises, but if my port is no good...

I'd start with System Information app in your Utilities folder. Launch
that and then find the System Report button and action that. In the
System Report there are a couple sections, one called Hardware and under
Hardware is Thunderbolt. Select that, stop interacting and then VO-right
