Hello everybody,
as there is ongoing some effort to make the current widgets scaleble,
current proposions have made available to the public through the bugzilla:

The bugs have 'scalability' keyword (as posting this, there is only 2 of
those), some might contain information on plans. If you feel like you
have some suggestions and you want to affect on the future designs, feel
free to have a look and comment/suggest.
