How much is "a lot of time"? My experience is more than 10 minutes in bad conditions (street with high buildings around); in the same situation the external receiver takes 2 or 3 minutes. > So I suppose that is not e GPS Nokia Receiver problem. I tested the same n810 withe the two receivers, so my feeling is quite the opposite. I have to say, anyway, that in good conditions (when mounted on a car, with a good portion of the sky visible) the built-in receeiver performs well, time to first fix is reasonable, and it seems very reliable > > When I try to switch from map to Maemo Mapper without deactivate the > GPS receiver so Maemo Mapper spend only few seconds to found the GPS > module because the posistion is already know. Yes, this is expected. Even disactivating the GPS and reactivating it quickly gives a good response.
