I'd suggest listing Simple-Launcher as OS2006 compatible after you
get positive feedback from a significant number of users. Add my
vote. It is a valuable tool.

Eureka! Your Red Pill suggestion did the trick.

I had religiously followed the HowTo to use a
Repository name
(repository.maemo.org) to get the complete path.

Other applications have been installed satisfactorily using the
Application Manager.
The problem remains the e2fsprogs package and apt-get install.

First, the role of repositories was not clear to me before. In
particular, the need to enter the appropriate repositories into the
Application Manager even

In the Application Manager I add a New Catalog with these entries and

installing becomeroot and then getting osso-xterm 0.13 listed in the
Application Manager.
But then the install of osso-xterm fails as "Package not found."
