Intel knows about handling hardware. Nokia is more about UIs, so each is
going to focus on their strengths. BTW, maybe in the no so distant
future we will see a Nokia mobile phone with an intel based processor.

I have installed the microb engine for the browser, but I don't get any
menu entry for switching between engines. I can launch the browser from
a terminal with the option --engine=opera, and it works perfect, but no
menu entry. Should I have to do something for getting it?

This has happened to me some times. It seems the file system on the card
gets broken so what I did is backup my files, format the card and
restore them later.
If you have some utility for restoring FAT file systems you could try
it, otherwise, you better format the card.
