sorry if this has been asked before. I'm a happy new owner of a n810
and wondering how I could access my music/video collection on my home
network from anywhere.
I have all my audio/video content on a (Iinux based) home system,
connect to the net via DSL, and I'm wondering if there'
How did you do this? I tried browsing with the file manager, but I don't see
Samba shares.

I see them with the File manager. On the left, there's a tree below
Internal memory card and Bluetooth. It's called Shared something, IIRC.

Yes, I can confirm, I can browse samba/windows resources. However it takes
some time when this "shared" menu can be seen. It probably does some
scanning first etc

I've been testing Webot.com and it seems to work really well, in the
browser with minimal fuss. You can stream music and view photos... no
video for the time being.

For the video part, you can try to use the web server complem
thanks - that looks good, I'll definitely give that a try. One other
app I ran into was Jinzora ( http://en.jinzora.com/ ) which has a lot
of features including video.
Apparently it has a slim interface but not sure how good it is.
I'd love to see an app with eye candy like UKMP or Canola supp

did you try the latest canola 2 beta? I have only tried that one and
didn't need to use my keyboard for anything... I actually loved how
it allows for navigating menus simply with your finger.
