I recently adapted the SPEC and patches in the repository for subversion-1.7.1
and installed it locally. It works in general, but there are two problems:
1. All working copies need to be upgraded to the new version using the svn
upgrade command. Otherwise, every svn operation does not

I agree both. Please submit first a mgarepo which works with both svn 1.6 and
1.7.

Here is the call for participation for next FOSDEM (Bruxelles - 4 and
5 February 2012). Would be nice to have Mageia for one conference at
least. If you have any idea about subject please make some proposal.

How about something about the difficulties of maintaining projects that don't
have some kind of LTS concept (or don't even care about older versions), that
could easily be crossdistro. (i'm thinking of Google, Mozilla, KDE (kmail1),
etc... )

I switched from mkinitrd to dracut on all systems using lvm in order to
prevent these very issues
actually in mandriva i pushed for migrating to dracut
i would suggest doing the same thing with mageia
