Public bug reported:
For example. If baseurl is http://localhost/mahara/, then most of the
tests will try and open pages under http://localhost/ instead of

Ok so the way moodle does it is work it out at install time and write to
config.php (they require document root to be writeable...)
The way they get the wwwroot path is get the proto + hostname roughly
the same way as mahara, then for the path above / they do the following:
get the path from one
A partial fix has been committed for this problem - the export file will
have better date values, but an import with that export file will still
fail, unless the Leap2A XML file is edited beforehand.
The fix puts up a warning on the admin page if your installation is
affected. From the testing I'v
By the way, I think we should fix this in master once we have branched
1.4 off of master.
(It's a bit late in the development cycle to make a change that could
potentially break a lot of sites.)

Yep, personally I don't think having it in the db is a big deal, but I'm
not too fussed about making it compulsory in config.php either.
I should say though, we currently get very very few people who change
sites and then complain on the forums about their wwwroot being broken.
But way back before
Hugh, yeah definitely, let's generate it the moodle way if that's more
reliable.

Something like "This setting may not work on some AD implementations".

I do not think really that generating it each time is significant
overhead, there are just some variable checks and string functions. I
will test it with profiler tomorrow. Perhaps we might get rid of storing
it in the database.

No worries, I think the 2nd one with the secret url buttons looks bad,
but I'll do it that way. Mostly I added them there for selfish reasons:
I know when I'm in a hurry I'll end up clicking the edit secret url
button by mistake when I'm really (90% of the time) wanting to edit
access.

Hugh, config.php is normally in the document root, which shouldn't be
writable by the webserver.
I don't think anyone's claiming cron needs wwwroot to be in the db,
though I noticed that comment in init.php about wwwroot (either in db or
config file) being needed by cron. That comment's true but
Had a crazy thought. It could be done by doing this.
If not in config.php, autogen and try to write back to config.php (if it is
writeable by www-data)
Don't put in db
Then when people need to change site, they change in config.php
This means the autogen should only happen once, users only have

Does this mean that a sitewide image might work?
Group is now publicly viewable - no difference.
BTW, I just checked again.
In FF, I went without being logged in and saw the page without the header
graphic. I saw a message prompting me to log in, and when I did, I saw the
graphic.
