Hello,
I have a problem with the Mail-News gateway.
when a response from the mailing list is sent to the newsgroup, it's being
sent as a normal message, and not as a reply to an exiting message.
what is the problem?
is it a problem with mailman?

Hi!
I'm currently using spamassassin to filter mail coming into my lists. I use
sendmail with procmail as the local delivery agent. However, since mail
sent to a program is not delivered by the local delivery agent I needed to
use a mail alias like this to have the processing done:

More insight to this problem:
It's permissions in aliases.db, as the httpd error log tells me.
I've proved that to be true by setting the permissions for aliases.db
to be read/write for all users, and it now works. I'm certain that's
*not* really what I want, but I'm not sure what the permiss

We are using Mailman version 2.0.8, which is in the ports for OpenBSD 3.1
I have been asked by list users if the "optional display name" could

i'm trying to use mailman with postfix, but i'm running into the same
error on both servers i'm trying to run it on. When i send a message to
the list, postfix sends back the error:

Never mind, I just adjusted apache to only do port 82, and everything works
now..
However, that brings up a potentially interesting option - to ignore all
virtual hosts/ips and just answer all requests as if they were for one
server. Not all of us are running 1000+ lists or members, even...
As of right now my list is in a mail loop where the digest is being sent out
once per minute to my 800 plus users. My hosting agency is looking into it
however it has been 2 hours. Is there any way to turn off a mailing list
through the admin interface without deleting the list?

I was using mailing on a machine where apache served both port 80 and 81 (81
was the port we had to use for extenal access). If I go to the mailman site
on either port, it sees the name as mail.signalbhn.org, no problem, and
lists the list. However, I just added port 82, as we have to move to that
Can this be done?? I need to make a list of users for backup purposes.

I'm looking for a way to tie the mailman authentication in with some other

I know that Mailman was not necessarily designed to be a distribution
list manager, but I have a few lists that I have created for this
purpose. What I am curious about is whether or not there is a way for a
message, when sent to a list, to appear as if sent by
