My site isn't yet using Mailman, but have an installation
with some test lists.
I tried to find an answer in the archives, but no luck...
Today I upgraded Mailman from 2.1.15 to 2.1.17. And my public lists
just disappeared! I mean, when I go to the page:

Because of some other tests, I restarted mailman this morning on my
server.
I've encountered the problem that emails are not getting through to
subscribers, but they are being posted to the archives.
I would appreciate any sort of guidance as to how to troubleshoot this
problem

the guide in README.Exim4.Debian , but there are two things that I think
lack to that file:
*1.* A problem seen in /var/log/exim4/mainlog:
/failed to expand condition
