My boss just asked me why messages sent via cc to a list end up in the
pending queue. My assumption is that it is to prevent spam, but is
there any way to turn this feature off? (Note: I do not think it is a
good idea to turn it off, but am being *requested* to do itG).

My boss wants me to give selective access to our archives. That is,
they are not supposed to be public, but she wants some selected
individuals to be able to view the archives without the ability to post
to the list (or change their membership information).
Obviously I can subscribe someone to
Caveat: someone else currently manages my lists, so I don't know how
he's set these up.
Recently we set up some new lists, and I'm finding that even though i've
specified in the settings that I want daily notices to be sent to me if
there are pending requests, I do not get anything for these

We are in northern Virginia, but location should not really be an issue.

We've recently had multiple problems with our mailman installation
(currently hosted externally but hopefully soon to be moved in house) and
the most recent one is that mail is simply not delivered - most of the time.

I recall at one point some list members saying that it was not good to put
one list as a member of another list. One of my colleagues has done this
and insists that it is easier for him because this way he doesn't have to
manage duplicate names (where names intersect lists). But of course it

This list is housed on the same server as 50 other lists, which seem to be
working fine. Any ideas why one list would give a full message while the
others don't?

We've just had a crash and burn of our server and are migrating everything
to a new machine. Mailman was previously installed by a consultant and Im
unable to reach him. Any resources/tips for help/consultants out there to
help with either migrating from our current machine or reinstalling?
Every time a message is generated from mailman (e.g. when an autoresponder
is sent to a poster), the from address is:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
How do I change that because it really is a misnomer - the message hasn't
bounced, it is merely an administrative message.
