[Mailman-Users] List Description in verify.txt

I need to have the subscription confirmation (templates/verify.txt) for a list be a little more descriptive as to the list being subscribed. I tried adding %(description)s to the template but it doesn't get replaced with the list description content. Is this possible in 2.1.2? --
