Hi Mark,
Thanks for the suggestions.
I guess @list.company.com is a standard for mail lists, and that maybe the
way I need to go.
I appreciate all the responses for this mail ist. This place rocks!

The "amail-list" is setup so that non-members can send e-mail to this list.
Does mailman have a limit for the number of users that a non-mail list
e-mail can be send to, without considering it as spam?
Can someone share their experiences.

Hi Dan,
Okay, the default setting was 10. I have set it to 0 now.
That should take care of the emails not getting into the moderation
requests.

members of b.list and c.list will receive the same email two times.
Right? I want to avoid that.
Is there an option in mailman (for either the sysadmin or the user).
The user level subsciption option "*Avoid duplicate copies of messages?"
does not do this task. *
Best,
Hello,
Is there a way that the contents of mailman archives can be made searchable?
Without mailman, the users could find/search for content using their mail
reader.
There are private internal mail lists of the company, and I am looking at
ways to give the users a mailman/pipermail search feature
Thanks! That will take care of my requirement.

Is this a correct statement?
For example, if I am NOT a member of mail-list, I can still go to
http://mailman/pipermail/mail-list
and browse the archives.
Now, there must be a way to block non-members to browse the archives

I found that patch, but I am stuggling to install it.
This patch is in a patch format (different from a regular tarball install).

But I am building mailman on this solaris10 box.

I am battling a somewhat related problem.
I am trying to get mailman to save the attachment with the same file name as
attachment.
So, what is the syntax for
SCRUBBER_USE_ATTACHMENT_FILENAME_EXTENSION
Is it True/False or 1/0
I am using mailman 2.1.6

Anyways, I tried this in mm_cfg.py
SCRUBBER_DONT_USE_ATTACHMENT_FILENAME = No
And restarted mailman.
I still am not able to save an email attachment with the same name as the
attachment.

Hello,
I notice that when you save the attachments, they are saved with a
different name than the name of the original attachment on the email.
Is there a way that the attachment can be made to save as the same name as
on the email?

One more question:
I want to delete off a few old mailing lists.
I read the instructions at:
http://www.python.org/cgi-bin/faqw-mm.py?req=show&file=faq04.031.htp
On checking, I did not the variable OWNERS_CAN_DELETE_THEIR_OWN_LISTS in
the /usr/local/mailman/Mailman/
, and hence there is no inbox.
Is that correct, or could someone tell me where is the file containing all
the emails for a mail-list?
Does anyone know if this mailman-MhonArc combination will work?
