ew list, and delete the old one.
(I do actually have superuser privileges on the system,
but am not sure of the finer details of creating a new list,
as the system is running under FreeBSD, with mmdf MTA,
and I am not familiar with these.)

Can I change the name of a list if I am list-owner?
(But I am not the system administrator.)

What is the easiest way to define email from a given site as spam?

change the password on a mailman list?
(I still have this privilege since I used to run the system,
but prefer not to use it if it can be avoided.)

question --
how to filter out spam with SpamAssassin --
but with mmdf rather than sendmail?

or most of the postings in that list,
which are actually concerned with development rather than use.
However, I suppose that is not an important matter.

e general one?
I take the position of one who is "owner" of several lists,
but who is not concerned in any way with "system administrator" tasks.
If something cannot be done with the program as is,
I regard that as an act of God beyond my ken.

o these "tricks"?
I'm interested in what may be a slightly different question:
Is there any official way of maintaining a "master" list, perhaps in XML,
so the new user is asked to give some information, eg full name,
which is then kept (somewhere) with the email address?
maybe not so dramatic, but definite difference.
While I am an enthusiastic user of mailman,
doesn't majordomo still have a well-defined usage,
for essentially private lists like committee minutes?
This is a genuine question --
am I right in assuming that mailman lists are by their nature
publicly
standard way of doing it?

I wonder if anyone has experience of using XML
to keep info, including names and email addresses, for mailman?
I find that for long lists it is quite difficult to keep track
of who exactly the people on the list are, just from their email addresses.

, can I add pages to the web-site specific to that list?
If anyone else is using mailman for a similar purpose
I'd be very grateful to hear from them.
