If you want to override the system defaults use the following shell
command:
`defaults write com.freron.MailMate NSRequiresAquaSystemAppearance -bool
yes`
The argument of *yes* will force light mode, *no* will force dark mode.
Replace *-bool yes* with *delete* to reset to system default.
Works fine for me, but mail appearance get’s over-ridden by any
in-line styling in the email itself, of course.

Mojave 10.14.4 beta and the latest test release of MailMate should note

Hi Mojave (macOS 10.14) users,
I've spent a couple of days on fixing various issues on Mojave
especially with regard to the new dark mode system setting. It's not
quite ready yet, but I might need a few people to try it out within a
few days. Write me off list if you are already using Mojave (
