Same for all other 'profiles' he made up.

And obviously he feels its ok to make up profiles, spam thousands of scraped adresses....

The background of the mails came as a total surprise to me: I would not have guessed that.

Even if this person was totally clueless of what's acceptable, the echo from their first spamming campaign using scraped addresses and fake sender identities last spring should have alerted them that this was not going to end well. It was clear from public forum messages and blog posts how alarming their deceptive messages were to the recipients. Given the penalties of the privacy laws whose implementation they were studying, that should not have surprised them but the public responses also made it obvious. And yet more than half a year later they started again, using the exact same mode of operation!

They were not just clueluess but *indifferent* to the outcome they would produce and nobody at their universities stopped them. That was what I found the most shocking.
