*Software Engineer (Java UI)* *Phone and In person* *Location: San Francisco, Ca (Onsite)* *Duration:12 months* *Description:* The Expedia Media Solutions *Engineering team is looking for a skilled web developer with proven experience* authoring components for high-volume web pages, using JavaScript and Java. The web developer will be part of the team that is responsible for developing, placing and maintaining advertising units in pages on Expedia properties, and will need to be familiar with a wide range of web technologies. Candidates should have excellent JavaScript skills, and will need to be able to write clean, effective, easily maintained code. This position will involve working on high scale websites, using a wide variety of cutting-edge technologies. *Responsibilities:* - Modify existing web pages to integrate new ad units or adjust existing ad units - Create elegant & reusable UX components that span devices using responsive web design - Write JavaScript code to load, reload, resize, and adjust ad units during the page's lifetime - Work with product managers to guide and refine requirements, and design next generation features - Leveraging and contribute to reusable libraries for placing and loading ad units, and make suggestions for improvements Required Skills: - 3+ years experience in JavaScript development, with a deep understanding of the language - 3+ years experience in Java development - Knowledge of the overall web technology stack, including HTTP, headers, cookies, caching - Solid understanding of HTML5 and CSS, and the standards for each, including working with all major modern browsers - Dedicated to writing and maintaining high quality code, including authoring automated tests - Comfortable contributing to an existing code base as well as creating a new one - Experience with web application frameworks, such as Spring MVC *Desired Skills: * - Understanding of responsive web design - Knowledge of JavaScript frameworks; such as jQuery, Prototype, Backbone, Knockout, Handlebars - Experience working with a JavaScript unit testing framework, such as QUnit or Jasmine - Familiarity with ad serving platforms or technologies - Experience investigating and optimizing web performance -Experience with web analytics tools or processes *Email is the best way to reach me.* ISO 9001:2008 Certified WMBE Firm 1441 E.
