Absolutely not. Anyone but Mandelbaum: I have caught him mistranslating the climactic scene of the compact of the kings (before the final battle) in a way that made no sense of the central issues of the poem. Cecil Day-Lewis is both accurate and well composed. From: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
