Dear Colleague,

We hope you will be interested in a new project which is being published on
the Internet under the wing of CERES (Cambridge English Renaissance
Electronic Service).

Under the title 'Aeneas and Isabella' it includes editions of two poems
(epistles between Dido and Aeneas) printed in 1600. It also includes,
perhaps more importantly, an attempt to attribute these poems to Isabella
Whitney.

The idea is that this project should try to be of interest and value in
itself, but should also make use of the potential the Internet offers for
swift and public scholarly discussion. There are aspects of the attribution
which interested researchers can supplement and quite possibly contradict.

So we hope that you will think about joining the debate. We also hope that
you will pass on the information about this project to interested
colleagues or to anyone researching the field.

You can find out about it at the CERES website, which is at
http://www.english.cam.ac.uk
Follow the link to COPIA (CERES Online Publications Interactive) in which
'Aeneas and Isabella' is the first project.
