Jess Paehlke CRRS, U of Toronto ________________________________________ [Announcement] The Fall of Troy in the Renaissance Imagination An international conference hosted by the Centre for Reformation and Renaissance Studies, Victoria University in the University of Toronto (Toronto, Canada) Friday-Saturday, 4-5 October 2002 This interdisciplinary conference will examine Renaissance visions and revisions of the myth of Troy, a city whose siege and destruction were represented in art, in history, and in myths of imperial origin throughout late-medieval and Renaissance Europe. Presentations will focus on these varying manifestations of Troy, as it was conceived by Continental and English artists and poets, historians and humanists, musicians and dramatists, and printers and translators.
