Hello friends,
I'm new to the list, but this semester at Bates College in Maine I am
teaching a course called "Walking Around the World", with both English and
Environmental Studies majors getting credit for the course. We started
with Gilgamesh, next we will read the Georgics, then on to Basho, the
Wordsworths, Thoreau, Keith Basso on the western apache, Ophelia Zepeda's
poems about the Tohon O'odham people, and more. I'd especially like to
know of articles and papers connecting Virgil to the Wordsworths, as well
as to Wendell Berry. Looking forward to hearing someone else discuss it.
I'm pretty much on my own now. Als looking for Naples/Epicurean info.
Ciao!
